Overview
Qualitest is seeking a skilled Software Developer to join our defence client's team. This hybrid role offers an exciting opportunity to work both remotely and on-site (2-3 days per week) at Aztec West Business Park. We are looking for candidates with a minimum of 1 year of experience in software development, particularly in Java and JavaScript, within an Agile environment. You will play a vital role in the design and implementation of innovative solutions for defence projects.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain software applications using Java and JavaScript in a collaborative team environment.
• Create and implement RESTful APIs to enhance application functionality and integration.
• Work in a Linux environment for application development, testing, and deployment.
• Actively participate in Agile methodologies, including Scrum ceremonies and team collaboration.
• Utilize development workflow management tools (e.g., TFS, Jira, Redmine) for task management and progress tracking.
• Foster effective teamwork, contributing to a positive and productive work atmosphere.
Essential Skills/Knowledge
• Recent experience as a software developer using Java and JavaScript within a project or product development team for a minimum of 1 year in an Agile environment.
• Proficiency in developing RESTful APIs.
• Experience with application development in a Linux environment.
• Familiarity with Scrum/Agile development methodologies.
• Experience using development workflow management tools (e.g., TFS, Jira, Redmine).
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
Education
• Educated to degree level or equivalent.
Location & Working Arrangements:
• Hybrid: 2-3 days a week on-site at Aztec West Business Park, Bristol (M5/M4 interchange).
• Remote working: Remaining days of the week.
