Specific Responsibilities
The Joint Venture Audit Advisor role for Apache Corporation will be a vital member of Apache’s Joint Venture audit team, part of the Forensic & Shared Audit Services Department. This individual will be reporting to the Director of Forensic & Shared Audit Services. This role will be primarily responsible for the following:

Produce reports from Apache’s financial systems to define the potential audit universe for non-operated working interests owned by Apache.
Apply internal criteria and industry expertise to select properties for inclusion in the annual Audit Plan, which will be presented to Audit management for approval.
Schedule audits with operating partners of designated properties.
Collaborate and communicate effectively with various internal departments, including Drilling, Operations, Asset Management, Accounting, and Data Land Management.
Analyze Joint Account Data Exchange (JADE) information provided by Operators to determine the scope and optimal approach for upcoming audits.
Conduct joint venture audits and issue clear, concise Information Requests and Preliminary Exceptions to Operator representatives as necessary.
Prepare comprehensive audit reports for Apache senior management, as well as for Operators and other non-operating partners.
Receive and evaluate responses from Operators, drafting rebuttals as required.
Organize and maintain detailed audit work papers to document procedures and support audit findings.
Monitor all assigned audit exceptions until full resolution is achieved.
Verify receipt of audit credits from Operators and ensure proper booking within Apache’s SAP system.
Lead or assist in hosting joint venture audits on Apache operated properties.
Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related discipline.
Demonstrated experience within the oil and gas sector is essential.
Comprehensive knowledge of COPAS standards.
A minimum of ten years’ relevant experience in joint venture accounting and/or joint venture auditing.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills within an accounting context.
Proficiency with SAP is mandatory.
Familiarity with other Apache systems, such as Ariba, Fieldglass, AFENav, Concur, and WellView, is considered advantageous.
Outstanding communication abilities.
Strong commitment to teamwork, coupled with the capacity to manage projects autonomously.
