In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems across various commercial and residential projects. Your expertise will ensure that plumbing systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all relevant codes and standards. Responsibilities
Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures, valves, and appliances in accordance with blueprints, schematics, and building codes.
Read and interpret detailed construction blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute plumbing layouts.
Use hand tools such as pipe wrenches, pipe threaders, cutters, and pliers to assemble and install piping systems efficiently.
Operate power tools safely for cutting, threading, welding, and fitting pipes during installation or repair tasks.
Perform welding tasks when required to join metal pipes or components securely.
Conduct heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely on construction sites or during maintenance activities.
Utilize basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to pipe sizing, flow rates, and material quantities.
Read schematics and mechanical drawings to troubleshoot issues effectively during field service or maintenance work.
Apply construction plumbing techniques on new builds or remodels while adhering to safety standards.
Assist with HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) system connections when necessary for integrated building services.
Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials on-site; ensure compliance with safety protocols at all times.
Collaborate with team members including carpenters, electricians, and mechanical specialists to complete projects efficiently.
Support ongoing maintenance tasks by inspecting existing plumbing systems for leaks or faults and performing necessary repairs or upgrades.
Drive commercial vehicles as needed to transport tools or materials between job sites while adhering to all safety regulations.
Requirements
Valid Journeyperson Plumbing license or equivalent certification demonstrating comprehensive plumbing expertise.
Proven experience in construction plumbing with a solid understanding of installation techniques across commercial or residential sites.
Hands-on experience with welding techniques related to pipe joining; familiarity with pipe threading is essential.
Proficiency in using hand tools such as wrenches, cutters, pliers; experience operating power tools safely is required.
Strong knowledge of construction site safety practices including heavy lifting procedures and hazard awareness.
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and mechanical diagrams accurately.
Mechanical aptitude with a good understanding of HVAC systems integration when applicable.
Basic math skills for measurements and calculations necessary for precise installations.
Experience working on construction sites with exposure to remodeling or maintenance projects preferred.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience is a plus.
Maintenance Person skills or experience in assembly and general maintenance work are advantageous.
Physical stamina for prolonged standing, climbing ladders, bending, crawling through confined spaces; ability to lift heavy materials safely.
