We are a commercial transport and heavy equipment repair facility in the heart of the amazing Kootenay Rockies in southeastern BC. Discuss ideas, diagnose issues, and find solutions to difficult problems. Complete inspection reports to record problems and work performed. Train and assist other technicians or apprentices with their work. Maintain positive working relationships with supervisors and other staff members in all departments. Performs any other duties as may be assigned by Lead Hand. Perform inspections, diagnostic tests, troubleshooting and general vehicle repair. Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment. Work in compliance with Company Health & Safety policies, and OHSA standards. Provide routine maintenance on tractors, trailers and mobile equipment such as forklifts and loaders Check all equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions. Perform mechanical repairs on equipment in the shop and road calls when required. Diagnose any faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair that is required. Perform incidental welding repairs on equipment. Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques.
