The challenge:
Install plumbing systems efficiently and effectively to support the production process of SEED Homes while adhering to plumbing codes, standards, and safety protocols.
What you'll do:
• Install plumbing systems, fixtures, and equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems
• Install pipes, valves, fittings, and fixtures according to specifications and building codes
• Test plumbing systems for proper functionality and safety
• Collaborate with other tradespeople, designers, project managers, etc.
• Stay updated on advancements in plumbing technology, industry trends, and changes to plumbing codes and regulations
• Provide guidance and training to apprentice and junior plumbers
What you'll have:
• Must be an Alberta-certified journeyperson plumber, hold a valid recognized credential and possess the skills and knowledge expected of a journeyperson
• At least 3 years of related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of plumbing systems, including diagrams, schematics, and plumbing codes and regulations
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, and technical drawings related to plumbing installations
• Proficiency in installing plumbing systems, fixtures, and equipment
• Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve plumbing issues efficiently
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools commonly used in plumbing work
• Working knowledge of plumbing codes and regulations established by national and local authorities
• Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks such as lifting heavy objects, working in confined spaces, and operating tools and equipment
• Ability to problem-solve and think critically
• Strong attention to detail, adaptability, and accountability
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
• Exemplary organizational skills with task prioritization, multi-tasking, and time-management techniques
• Ability to deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
• Self-starter propensity with the proven ability to lead, take initiative, and work independently
• Team orientation with a sense of humour and positivity
