Your keen eye for detail, strong technical skills in garment construction & design, and the ability to stay on top of consumer preferences will help us keep our client's catalogues relevant and trendy. You will directly be reporting to the Principal DesignerRoles And ResponsibilitiesActively participate in market study to identify current trends, fabrics, and techniques, and seeking design inspirationDeeply understand /define brand and customer profiling to address the relevant market opportunities with relevant conceptsDevelop ideas for product re-engineeringInterpret seasonal fashion directions, opportunities and assort merchandise / range to stay ahead of competitionConceptualize, design and develop the range in line with brand ethos/positioning, as per pricing/margin strategy and learnings from the previous seasons within acceptable timelinesLiaise with product development/fit technicians for relevant inputs (vendors/mills) to get planned innovations on fits, fabric, style, print techniques, surface enhancements/textures, trims etc.Participate in concept and range approval discussionLiaise with product development for sampling, tech pack handover and prototypingPrepare mood boards for the forthcoming seasonCreate line sheets and design packs as per agreed rangeParticipate in fit sessions, PP approvals to ensure quality of productSupport GTM presentation by ensuring 100% accuracy of information and sample availabilityEnsure FABs are procured as per given specsIdentify opportunities for bringing in process efficiencyQualifications & Skills1+ years of industry experience of designing garments in category like Activewear, for top global brands (like M&S, Amante, Nike, Puma)Post graduation/graduation in fashion/apparel design and merchandising (or a related discipline) from top colleges like NIFT, NID or equivalentA keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and strong technical skills in garment construction and designProficiency in working with one or many of the prevalent design tools like Adobe Illustrator, or Adobe Photoshop. Previous experience of working with 3D design tools like 3D CAD or CLO 3D will be a big plusStrong understanding of cross-functional team accountabilities and requirements; including close working relationships with product development, raw material, quality assurance, garment technology and merchandising teamsExtensive and excellent knowledge in the production process, fit, fabrics, garment construction, manufacturing and costingBenefitsA competitive salary - We want our early employees to think like entrepreneurs & grow fast.
