Junior Architect
Responsibilities
Brainstorming: Coming up with ideas for projects
Research: Conducting preliminary research for projects
Design: Providing input on proposals and designs, and completing drawings
Coordination: Helping to coordinate project details
Documentation: Completing documents related to designs and construction, and submitting documents for permits
Presentation: Helping to present materials to clients
Communication: Communicating with clients to gather requirements and answer questions, and communicating with contractors about project status
Skills
Junior architects should have the following skills:
Technical skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, and knowledge of building codes and standards
Communication skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to interact well with
customers and co-workers
Project management skills: Strong organizational skills, and the ability to complete technical drawings
Other skills: Logical thinking, attention to detail, problem solving, flexibility, time management, and teamwork
Experience
Previous experience is preferred, and some advanced skills that may be preferred include completion of an architecture program and professional experience with an architecture firm
