Full job description
Join our Commodities and Global Markets Data Technology and Data Architecture team to co-design and build scalable and well-governed physical data models for our data and analytics platform. Our team has a strong focus on collaborative data design and scalable delivery frameworks to bring data engineering and architecture together.
At Macquarie, our advantage is bringing together diverse people and empowering them to shape all kinds of possibilities. We are a global financial services group operating in 31 markets and with 56 years of unbroken profitability. You’ll be part of a friendly and supportive team where everyone - no matter what role - contributes ideas and drives outcomes.
What role will you play?
As a Junior Data Architect, you will work alongside engineers, business SMEs, data modellers and the Group Data Office to assist in building out our innovative data platform. You will assist in designing scalable and reusable physical data models as part of the Commodities and Global Markets data model working groups, engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and reviewing data model and reporting requirements.
What you offer
1-2 years data architecture or data modelling experience, with an interest in ‘hand-on’ design to support engineering outcomes
Some knowledge of data warehousing and data platform concepts and data modelling techniques
Understanding of relational databases and SQL, particularly with experience writing SQL for data profiling purposes
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with a focus on bridging the gap between technical and non-technical audiences
Hands-on experience with Python for data-related tasks and automation
Knowledge of version control systems, particularly Git, and platforms like Bitbucket
Experience with data modelling tools, such as Erwin Data Modeler would be highly valued, but not mandatory.
We love hearing from anyone inspired to build a better future with us, if you're excited about the role or working at Macquarie we encourage you to apply.
