The Junior Estimator/Sales/Office Administrator will play a vital role in supporting Sales, project management activities, assisting with estimating, and ensuring smooth daily operations.
Duties
Assist in the preparation of estimates and project bids.
Support project management tasks by coordinating schedules, resources, and documentation.
Maintain organized records of contracts, proposals, and project correspondence.
Facilitate communication between team members, subcontractors, and clients to ensure project alignment.
Guide customers through the selection process, offering design advice and solutions tailored to their projects.
Perform general administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and office organization.
Skills
1. Sales and Customer Service:
Engage with potential customers to understand their needs and preferences for countertop materials and designs.
Provide detailed information about different stone products, their benefits, and maintenance requirements.
Guide customers through the selection process, offering design advice and solutions tailored to their projects.
Prepare and present compelling sales proposals to prospective clients.
Follow up with customers to answer questions, address concerns, and ensure a positive sales experience.
2. Estimating:
Review project plans, blueprints, and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates.
Calculate material quantities, labor costs, and other expenses to determine project pricing.
Prepare and submit detailed and competitive quotes to customers in a timely manner.
Collaborate with production and installation teams to ensure accurate project scopes and timelines.
3. Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers, contractors, designers, and builders.
Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote Dittmar Stone & Tile Ltd. and generate new leads.
Develop and maintain a customer database with detailed records of interactions, preferences, and project histories.
4. Project Coordination:
Work closely with the production team to ensure accurate order fulfillment and timely delivery of materials.
Monitor project progress and address any issues or changes that arise during the process.
Provide updates to customers on the status of their projects.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma with other relatable education
Post Secondary Education considered an asset
2 years estimating blueprints, and completing measurements and take offs
2 years customer service experience with experience in similar industry (flooring, cabinets, tile, construction)
Basic computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office products and ability to learn other software programs – estimating software
Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail
Ability to handle challenging situations with diplomacy and respect
Works well with team members to resolve issues and move forward in a proactive manner
Effective verbal communication skills
Proficient mathematical skills with strong understanding of measurements and fractions
Ability to solve problems as they arise
