Job Description
About the Role:
As a part of finance at Articulus, the candidate will own the entire finance function end-to-end. From day-to-day accounting and compliance to board-level financial reporting, this is a high-ownership role suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment, can build financial systems from scratch, and is comfortable being the sole finance professional in the room.
Key Responsibilities:
• Own Zoho Books end-to-end — setup, chart of accounts, workflows, integrations, and ongoing maintenance.
• Prepare data for GST and TDS filings; own reconciliation between books and filed returns to prevent discrepancies.
• Coordinate with auditors and prepare all supporting documentation for statutory and internal audits.
• Reconcile vendor payments processed by the procurement team, ensuring accurate coding in Zoho Books.
• Monitor daily cash position and maintain a rolling cash flow forecast; manage accounts receivable and collections.
• Prepare and track annual and quarterly budgets; monitor actuals vs. budget and flag variances proactively.
• Prepare monthly MIS reports and financial decks for board meetings — P&L, burn rate, cash runway, and KPIs.
• Build and maintain financial models and dashboards in Excel and Google Sheets to support fundraising and leadership decisions.
• Support complex business finance modelling — including warranty and service provisions, capitalisation of project and R&D expenses, and other accounting treatments relevant to a hardware and medical device company.
Requirements & Qualifications:
• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) — mandatory; this role will not be considered without CA qualification.
• 2–4 years of post-qualification experience in a finance or accounting role.
• Must have set up or significantly configured Zoho Books — not just used it as an end user.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets — financial modelling, pivot tables, dynamic dashboards.
• Strong command of Indian tax compliance — GST, TDS, advance tax, and direct taxes and other allied laws and regulations.
• Demonstrated experience preparing MIS reports and financial presentations for senior leadership or boards.
• Experience owning reconciliations and ensuring alignment between accounting records and statutory filings.
• Prior experience in a startup or small company with a broad, high-ownership remit is strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills; excellent communication; ability to manage multiple priorities independently
If you are passionate about finance, systems, and want to make a real impact at the heart of a high-growth medical device company, we'd love to have you on our team!
