Join our Digital team within the Corporate Services Group at Christchurch City Council. We're a collaborative, forward-thinking group focused on delivering innovative digital solutions that enhance the experience of our citizens and support internal operations. This role sits within our team who provide configuration, development and support for both SAP and Non-SAP customer facing applications, contributing to both project delivery and business-as-usual (BAU) support.

As a Junior Functional Analyst, you'll play a key role in supporting the delivery of major digital projects, including customer-facing applications and the Digital Citizen Experience (DCE) initiative. This is a growth-focused role designed to help manage increased workload from large-scale projects while maintaining essential BAU tasks.
You'll work closely with senior Functional analysts and developers to:
Understand how applications function from a user perspective.
Translate business needs into functional requirements.
Follow structured workflows and contribute to solution design and testing.
Provide 2nd and 3rd level application support.
Assist in workload management and documentation.

You're a detail-oriented problem solver with a passion for technology and customer service. You bring:
A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow structured workflows.
A customer-focused mindset and excellent communication skills.
A basic understanding of how applications work and how to translate technical information for non-technical users.
A desire to learn and grow within a high-performing team.
Some experience in business analysis, systems analysis, or application support is a plus, however more importantly we're looking for someone with the right attitude and potential.

Location: Te Hononga, Christchurch City Council Civic Offices - 53 Hereford Street.
Hours: Permanent, full-time.
Salary: The salary band for this position goes from $74,394 p.a. to $82,660 per annum based on a 40-hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
