Function: Design- Menswear | Location: New Delhi | Reporting to: Category Lead – Menswear
About the role:
We’re looking for a Junior Designer – Menswear to join our growing design tribe at Nicobar.
If you are an original thinker, have a love for textiles and craft, eye for details and a knack for turning everyday inspirations into timeless pieces, this role is for you. You’ll help bring our menswear stories to life — collections that sit at the crossroads of craft and contemporary global design, rooted in Indian sensibilities but made for a modern world.
What You’ll Do:
• Support in creating seasonal collections that reflect Nicobar’s evolving menswear language.
• Work on mood boards, sketches, and design development, from idea to sample.
• Explore textile techniques, craft processes, and trims that add subtle depth to the range.
• Prepare spec sheets, tech packs, and artworks that communicate the design story clearly.
• Partner with sampling, production, and merchandising teams to bring designs to life.
• Participate in fit trials and quality reviews to ensure the right balance of comfort and design integrity.
• Stay curious —explore new qualities and silhouettes relevant to a mindful, modern wardrobe.
• Contribute to shoots and styling discussions, ensuring every piece feels true to the Nicobar spirit.
What We’re Looking For:
• A degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or Apparel Design .
• 1–3 years of hands-on experience in menswear design.
• A strong understanding of aesthetics, textiles, and sustainable fabrics.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Excel.
• A solid grasp of pattern making, construction, and finishing.
• A sharp aesthetic eye and an intuitive sense of form, fit, and proportion.
• Someone collaborative, detail-oriented, and curious — who enjoys the journey
as much as the outcome.
•Illustration and Graphic design proficiency is a strong plus.
