Description
• Product Development: Collaborate with the design and product development team to understand customer requirements, trends, and specifications. Assist in creating product prototypes and samples.
• Sourcing and Vendor Management: Identify and liaise with fabric and accessory suppliers. Obtain quotes, negotiate prices, and ensure timely sourcing of materials while maintaining quality standards.
• Order Processing: Assist in receiving and processing purchase orders from clients. Ensure accuracy in order details, quantities, and timelines.
• Production Coordination: Work closely with production teams to monitor the progress of garment production. Track production schedules, address production-related issues, and ensure timely completion of orders.
• Quality Assurance: Participate in quality control processes to ensure that garments meet the required standards. Conduct inspections of samples and bulk production to identify and resolve any quality issues.
• Costing and Pricing: Support the senior merchandisers in preparing cost sheets and pricing of garments. Monitor and analyze production costs to maintain competitiveness in the market.
• Documentation: Assist in preparing and maintaining export documentation, including shipping documents, customs paperwork, and compliance-related records.
• Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to provide updates on order status, resolve queries, and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Market Research: Stay updated with industry trends, competitor analysis, and customer preferences to help make informed decisions related to product development and marketing strategies.
• Administrative Tasks: Handle administrative tasks related to the merchandising process, such as data entry, report generation, and record-keeping.
• Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve any operational challenges or bottlenecks that may arise during the merchandising process.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant export regulations, labor standards, and quality control guidelines.
Qualifications And Skills
• A bachelor's degree in fashion merchandising, textile, or a related field is typically required.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Basic knowledge of garment production processes and quality control procedures.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with industry-specific software and systems is a plus.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic industry
