The MRG Group is looking for an experienced Junior Shift Supervisor to bridge the gap between technical security execution and strategic mentorship. This is a unique role designed for a high-performer with a strong foundation in hospitality security who is ready to step into our downtown Toronto venues.

Who You Are:
You are an experienced hospitality professional with at least 2 years of experience in high-volume venues, bars, or nightlife. You won’t just be monitoring the floor; you’ll be shaping our security posture, mentoring staff, and ensuring a safe, premium experience for our guests and team. You are a leader who remains calm under pressure and values a hospitality-first approach to safety.
What You’ll Do:
Lead daily operations in a fast-paced environment, ensuring all protocols are executed with precision across multiple venues.
Act as the primary lead for on-site incidents, managing de-escalation, medical response, and thorough post-incident reporting.
Ensure the premises remain compliant with the Liquor Licence and Control Act and provincial safety regulations, overseeing ID checks and capacity management.
Supervise and mentor junior security personnel, assisting with on-the-floor training and performance evaluations.
Manage guest flow and monitor venue capacity throughout the night.
Conduct bag checks when required.
Refuse entry (or request departure) of visibly intoxicated individuals in a safe, professional manner.
Maintain a professional and welcoming presence, balancing high-level security with exceptional guest service.
Communicate effectively and calmly in all situations
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
What We’re Looking For:
Valid Ontario Security Guard License.
Smart Serve Certification.
First Aid & CPR Certification.
Experienced and proficient with government issued ID checks (in person testing will be conducted)
Deep understanding of the Liquor Licence and Control Act (in person testing will be conducted)
Proven ability to take charge during high-stakes situations and guide a team effectively.
Must be available for Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, as well as holidays and special events.
Terms & Expectations:
You will be required to work inside and outside in all types of weather conditions, including hot, cold, rain, or shine across our various downtown properties.
