We are currently seeking Junior Support Engineers to join our product team to support the users of our automation product used by our Automation Engineers and clients, as well as contribute to DevOps initiatives. This opportunity will offer candidates experience supporting a software product used in critical business processes, and experience in building DevOps solutions on AWS.

Job Responsibilities:
General
• Adhere to company practices and policies
• Communicate effectively with team and business stakeholders to understand business needs
• Understand emerging technologies and potential applications of them
• Reporting status to leads and managers as required
• Contribute ideas to improving company and team processes
Support
• Workflow user problems logged through Help Desk, creating bug tickets and responding to customers
• Communicate with customers in a professional and timely manner
• Work with Product Owner to communicate user and client request severities for development prioritization
• Work with Operations Engineering team to resolve reported incidents
• Provide updates to users on Help Desk tickets as required
• Provide off hours support for critical issues and deployments as part of on-call support
• Maintain Help Desk documentation
Development
• Develop code that is easy to read, test, and maintain to meet acceptance criteria
• Develop unit testing to comply with code coverage requirements
• Reading and understanding code thoroughly when debugging or resolving bugs.
• Adhere to defined source code management procedures with selected SCM tooling
• Participate in sprint ceremonies (Daily, Retrospective, Sprint Planning)
• Collaborate with the development team to design and develop solutions with a focus on quality, performance, scalability, and usability
• Investigate bugs and issues reported by QA and support teams
• Collaborate with QA team to ensure proper testing of code
• Raise issues, roadblocks, and concerns with senior developers
• Participate in Merge Requests to ensure code is bug free and meets quality standards
• Respond to and apply feedback from peers during Merge Requests
• Participate in the identification of bugs through Field Testing, adhering to standards of bug creation
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelorʼs degree in computer science or a related field 3+ years development experience in Java (preferably working with Spring). Nice, but not mandatory, experience in another language (OOP or other)
· Experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL etc). You should feel comfortable planning out schemas and designs that your code will interface with
· Develop and maintain resilient microservice applications which would include analyzing, designing, developing and implementing
· Experience with API design and development
Nice to Have
· Familiarity with Docker and container platforms, OpenShift experience is a plus
· Experience with managing and deploying services to AWS using ECS
· Experience with version control using Git (Gitlab), Jira
· Experience using API testing tools like Postman
· Experience with Shell scripting, Bash and the Linux OS
