About this team: From concept through to pre-production stage, Product Development is the front-line regarding communication with the finished goods vendor base, launching sketches, requesting sampling, fitting product, and keeping an accurate data library of the life cycle of a product. Product Development is a truly cross functional working group that pivot to partners such as Design, Concept, Global Fit, Technical Development, Quality, Merchandising, Finished Goods Sourcing, Raw Materials, and Go To Market operations to deliver a commercially ready product to our buying teams.

A day in the life: The Junior Technical Developer at lululemon creates world class athletic & lifestyle apparel that is acknowledged as leading in innovation, design, function, fit and quality. Under the mentorship & partnership of the senior technical developers; you develop the line from tech pack hand-off to the production of garments.
Maintain style data integrity and accuracy in Flex PLM and other relevant systems • Responsible for the fit, execution of low to mid complexity styles from concept through to production readiness.

With guidance from a Senior Technical Developer communicate fit comments inclusive of updated style measurements, construction details inline with fit comment SOP to vendors and or in house team.
Enter and update as required any technical trims in BoM ensuring accuracy
With mentorship from Senior Technical developers demonstrate an ability to articulate fit or prototype changes and rational to cross-functional partners utilizing visual or verbal communication and or tools
Create and initiate all subsequent systematic sample requests as required inclusive of measurements templates
Takes a proactive approach to advancing technical knowledge through mentorship and training from technical and product development peers
Assist in the preparation of fittings and presentations as required
Seek guidance from Senior Technical Developers and Quality Development peers to read lab test reports and demonstrate ability to adjust construction to mitigate risk of failure
Support in the creation and maintenance of fit and construction standards and protocols
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent professional experience; focused training in Technical Design, Pattern Making, Product Development or relevant experience preferred
2 + years minimum industry experience (preferably within the Technical Design or Technical Development departments)
Proficiency in MS office (Excel/Word/Outlook), Adobe Design Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop)
Knowledge of Flex PLM or similar PLM software is recommended
Must haves:
Driven by the technical aspect of the product creation process
Attention to detail, initiative, organization, strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to take thorough and relevant fit notes
Basic understanding of Grading
Comprehension of end-to-end product lifecycles
Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities
Self-motivated, strong sense of urgency, collaborative mindset
Thrive in a fast paced, cross functional team environment
Excellent time management and proactive problem-solving skills
Curiosity for change and learning, capable of managing ambiguity
Familiarity or Intermediate knowledge with Gerber Pattern Making and/or 3D software (CLO, Browzwear)
Ability to lift 10kg as needed

The typical hiring range for this position is from $60,000- $74,000 annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
