This Opportunity
As a Project Accountant, you will support the financial management of architecture and design projects by assisting with project budgeting, tracking expenses, and facilitating timely and accurate client billing. Working closely with project managers, design teams, and the accounting department, you will help ensure that projects remain financially on track and aligned with contract requirements.
The Junior to Mid-Level Project Accountant will work out of our Los Angeles, CA office.
Your New Role
Assist with the setup and maintenance of project budgets and financial records in the accounting system.
Track labor hours, expenses, and consultant costs to ensure accurate allocation and reporting. Prepare and process monthly client invoices, ensuring they are timely, accurate, and aligned with contract terms.
Support project managers by providing regular financial updates and reports, including budget vs. actual summaries and burn rates.
Monitor consultant fee agreements and track subconsultant invoices to ensure alignment with project budgets.
Help identify and resolve discrepancies in billing, time entry, or project costs.
Collaborate with accounting team members to improve processes and maintain best practices in project financial management.
Respond to internal and external inquiries related to project financials in a timely and professional manner.
Who You Are
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
1–4 years of experience in a project-based industry such as architecture, engineering, or construction.
Familiarity with project accounting principles, including billing, budgeting, and cost tracking.
Experience with Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint is a plus.
Comfortable working with budgets for projects ranging from $30M to $2B.
Highly detail-oriented and organized with strong time management skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Proactive and willing to learn in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Compensation: $70,000 - $85,000 per year. Applicants, please note that actual compensation is determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location, among others. The wage offered or salary is only one aspect of an employee's total compensation.
This salary range is based off the Los Angeles area.
