VPS Grade 2: $60,295 - $77,430 plus superannuation.
About the Business Unit:
The Melbourne Assessment Prison (MAP) is a maximum-security facility providing state-wide assessment and orientation services for all male prisoners received into the prison system and is located within the North West Metropolitan Area, Department of Justice. MAP consists of the prison, the custody facilities at the County, Supreme and Appeal Courts and holding cells at St Vincent's Hospital for prisoners requiring outpatient medical treatment.
About the Role:
The Justice Officer is an entry-level position to a career in corporate services in the Department's eight Regions, through which the compliance, enforcement and regulatory services are provided to the Victorian community.
Some of your duties will include:
As part of the Property team, and under supervision, providing high quality services and perform functions pertaining to prisoner property and visitor enquiries at the MAP
Performing data entry using departmental computer program, accurately entering detailed descriptions of prisoner property as well as recording, maintaining and transfering prisoner property and valuables electronically and physically
Ensuring Occupational Health & Safety and secure storage up to 15kgs of prisoner property.

Well-developed computer literacy with the ability of adapting to new systems and software with ease
Data entry/Records management
Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, procedures, guidelines and regulations
Demonstrated experience and/or understanding of working within a correctional environment.
