I am working with a leading investment bank, looking to expand its FX trading business by adding a KDB Developer to its high-performing, fast-paced development team.
You will be responsible for the development and optimization of KDB+/q systems, ensuring they can handle increasing data loads while maintaining low latency and high reliability. The ideal candidate will have experience in the FX markets, possess strong technical expertise, and be able to thrive in a fast-paced trading environment.
Responsibilities:
• Develop, maintain, and optimize the bank's KDB+ infrastructure and databases to handle large volumes of real-time and historical FX data.
• Increase the capacity and scalability of the existing KDB systems to meet the growing demands of the FX business.
• Collaborate with trading and quant teams to ensure efficient integration of market data into the algorithmic trading platform. Optimize data processing pipelines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in real-time, ensuring minimal downtime for trading operations.
• Work closely with the broader technology teams to improve system architecture and ensure high performance and low latency.
• Utilize technologies like Docker and Linux to build, deploy, and manage KDB systems in a flexible and scalable environment.
• Write and maintain scripting tools (e.g., shell scripts) to automate tasks and streamline system management.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Proven experience with KDB+/q in low-latency, high-frequency trading environments.
• Strong Linux administration skills with experience in using Docker for deployment.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Shell) for automation and system management.
• Experience in the FX market or similar financial systems (candidates from investment banks, hedge funds, or proprietary trading firms with FX focus are preferred).
• Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced trading environment, managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on, technical approach to system development.
• Experience working in agile teams, with the ability to adapt and perform in a dynamic environment.
• Experience working in Investment Banking, especially within FX, or specialized FX trading firms or other financial institutions with similar algorithmic trading system would be very beneficial.
