Indira Priyadarshini School, J. P. Nagar, is looking for Trainee/Assistant Teachers for Joy of Learning, our Early Learning Centre.
The Preschool Assistant Teacher supports the Homeroom Teacher in delivering engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences for children aged 2–6 years. While prior teaching experience is not required, a willingness to learn, a love for children, and a proactive attitude are essential. The Assistant Teacher monitors student activity during lessons and center time, helps maintain a safe and nurturing classroom environment, and is expected to confidently manage the class in the absence of the Homeroom Teacher.
Candidates must have a love for children and should be passionate about their chosen field.
· Requirements:
Female candidates only.
Must have a Bachelor's degree in any arts/science stream.
Candidates must have a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education OR be willing to obtain one within the first two years on the job.
Prior work experience in a reputed preschool is desired, but not required.
Good communication skills in spoken and written English are essential.
Warm, patient, and energetic personality, with a positive and child-friendly attitude.
Must be dependable, organized, and flexible to adapt to classroom needs.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Homeroom Teacher in preparing and delivering daily lessons and activities.
Move within the classroom and between learning centers to monitor student participation, guide activities, and ensure safety.
Maintain a cheerful, supportive, and organized classroom atmosphere that promotes social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.
Step in as the lead educator when the Homeroom Teacher is absent, following pre-set lesson plans and classroom routines.
Help create engaging, age-appropriate curriculum resources and lesson plans with input from the homeroom teacher and JOL team.
Help set up and maintain a print-rich and visually appealing classroom with age-appropriate displays and learning resources.
Support students during mealtime and transitions between activities.
Carry out regular observations and assessments of children.
Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and behavior.
Follow all school safety, health, and hygiene protocols diligently.
Participate in classroom events, celebrations, and school-wide activities as needed.
Maintain respectful communication with parents when required and assist in preparing basic updates for them.
Be open to learning new teaching methods and participating in ongoing professional development.
