Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Kitchen Assistant to support our Chef. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and meal creation, ensuring that every dish meets our high standards of quality and presentation. You will play a vital role in delivering our children's and staff meals, adhering to food safety regulations and maintaining a clean kitchen environment.
Duties
• Support the preparation and cooking of a variety of meals in accordance with established recipes and menu specifications.
• Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen, including proper storage and handling of ingredients.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service periods.
• Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages to the kitchen manager.
• Ensure that the kitchen is kept clean, organised, and free from hazards at all times.
Experience
• Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary skills is advantageous.
• Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in meal preparation is highly desirable.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
