Job Description
We are looking for a kitchen assistant, is responsible for assisting in the daily operations of a kitchen. Their job duties may include preparing and cooking food, cleaning and sanitizing work areas, washing dishes, stocking ingredients, and assisting chefs and cooks with various tasks. Some specific responsibilities of a kitchen helper may include: Preparing ingredients for cooking, such as washing and chopping vegetables, portioning meat, and measuring spices Assisting with food preparation, such as making sauces or breading chicken Operating kitchen equipment, such as mixers or food processors, under the supervision of a chef or cook Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment and work surfaces, including sweeping and mopping floors and wiping down countertops Washing dishes and other kitchen utensils by hand or using a dishwasher Unloading deliveries of food and supplies and stocking them in designated storage areas Assisting with inventory management, such as tracking food supplies and notifying supervisors when inventory is running low Following proper food handling and safety procedures, including storing food at appropriate temperatures and labeling food containers with expiration dates
