JOB DESCRIPTION
KITCHEN HELPER (PART-TIME)
Shawnigan Lake School is looking for a Kitchen Helper to join our fantastic kitchen team! This is a fast-paced, friendly environment where you will work with our kitchen team to provide a first-rate dining experience for our students, staff and other School guests.
This is a part-time position offering a wage of $20 per hour.
Kitchen Helper shifts could be mornings, afternoons or evenings, any day of the week. This is a great opportunity for those looking for a flexible work schedule.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to both the Director of Food Services, the tasks of the Kitchen Helper include:
· Washing glassware, cutlery, plate ware, pots, and pans
· Setting of dining hall
· Sweeping, mopping, and general cleaning duties
· Removal of compost, recycling, and garbage
· Light kitchen prep duties; helping Cooks when needed
· Other kitchen related duties as needed
REQUIREMENTS
· Legally entitled to work in Canada
· Good communication skills
· Once trained, able to work independently and to handle all aspects of the role without on-going direction
· Self-motivated, with the ability to deal with minor problems or variances to routine
· Ability to work without supervisory assistance, while knowing the appropriate time to ask for help
· Ability to consistently meeting the physical demands of the position
