It is essential that all applicants have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience from retail or wholesale banking. Unfortunately, our client cannot provide sponsorship and therefore only applicants that have eligibility to work in the UK for 3+ years in the future will be considered.
Our client, a bank based in Central London is looking for a KYC, Wholesale Banking, 5 years experience person to join them on a 2-year fixed term contract. This position is 5 days per week office based.
As part of the first line of defence, the job holder has the responsibility and accountability for identifying, assessing, and seeking the relevant approvals for any financial crime risks that arise in connection with the customer or counterparty relationships. This applies to the onboarding of new customers/counterparties, periodic reviews, event driven reviews, account closures and ensuring other stakeholders are informed and updated. Also onboarding liaison to ensure information received is as required and acting as the first point of call between the business and the KYC Department by delivering a first-class service.
Main Responsibilities:
• Liaise with Assistant Manager: Onboarding Liaison and relevant internal departments to on-board/off-board, Periodic Reviews and EDR events for clients (i.e., Risk, Credit, Compliance/Legal, Admin etc.).
• Reviewing documentation received from Assistant Manager/the business: Onboarding Liaison in line with the due diligence requirements appropriate to the risk rating.
• Conducting periodic reviews, event driven reviews, and account closures, with the review of the Account Opening & Review form, Transaction History, ID & VA, screening, organisational charts, source of wealth and source of funds.
• Completion of Onboarding new customers from CIF level to account opening (reviewing all relevant information is obtained and provided by Business is stored and the satisfactory completion of, but not limited to, the Account Opening & Review form, ID & VA, screening, organisational charts, source of wealth and source of funds).
• Completion of Periodic Reviews and EDRs of existing customers from CIF level to account opening reviewing all relevant information is obtained and provided by Business and stored and the satisfactory completion of, but not limited to, the Account Opening & Review form, ID & VA, screening, organisational charts, source of wealth and source of funds. Working with the KYC Manager to prioritise and close reviews prior to or on expected due review date plus 30 days.
• Working with the KYC team on file reviews as well as any escalations, ensuring that role holder acts in accordance with a subject matter expert by leading that review in the onset.
• Processing all approvals / escalations within the workflow tools for account opening, closure and re-reviews.
• Reviewing trigger events / EDRs and recommending off-boarding if necessary.
• As 'Certification Staff, ensure the Bank's AML, counter terrorist financing, sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption and fraud prevention, complaint handling and treating your customer fairly policies, procedures and together with other regulated regulatory guidelines are always adhered to.
• Provide cover for Overnight screening oversight and updates (additions and removals) reporting any exceptions to the Financial Crime team.
• Liaise with KYC QC, Assistant managers and team on specific requirements and regulation arising under special circumstances.
• Creating the Risk Assessment statements on each file for Business Manager to agree and sign off.
• If delegated to, timely completion of customer or Third-Party Provider related screening, reporting any exceptions to the KYC Manager/ Requesting department manager.
Experience & Skills required:
• Minimum five years’ previous experience from retail or wholesale banking.
• Relevant degree or equivalent related to banking
• Analytical mindset
