Job Description
Past Experience: Minimum 3 years
Education: Bachelors in science, B.Ed.
The employee should be proficient in oral and written English and have an ability to communicate well with teachers, vendors and helpers. A basic knowledge of Word and Excel is a must. Good listening skills are required so that detailed instruction can be followed.
Responsibilities Includes :
Laboratory preparatory work :
• Scientific knowledge and understanding and ability to handle lab equipment
• Organize and prepare the labs for class sessions and examinations
• Maintain work area and equipment in the prep lab
• Work with teachers and head of the science departments to plan
• Work with the teachers and follow guidelines while setting and adhering to safety standards
• Maintain, construct and operate equipment
• Carry out tests to verify material supplied
Inventory Management :
• Create and follow a process-oriented approach towards managing all lab requirements
• Identify materials required for all labs and liase with procurement team
• Maintain a check on stock and prepare purchase orders in time to ensure timely delivery of material
• Liase with vendors and ensure material purchased is the best quality and approved by the department head
• Check material for expiry and manage disposal of waste.
• Keep abreast of latest equipment and technology that can prove beneficial to the school lab
