Role Overview:
The Lab Technician supports the Pharmacy Department by ensuring the smooth and safe operation ofteaching laboratories. This role involves preparing experiments, maintaining equipment, and assisting students and faculty during practical sessions to create a high-quality learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lab Preparation: Prepare and standardize pharmaceutical reagents and solutions for practicals in areas like Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutics, and Human Anatomy and Physiology.
Equipment Management: Maintain and calibrate analytical instruments. Troubleshoot and ensure all lab equipment is in proper working condition.
Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety protocols, guide students on safe lab practices, and manage the proper disposal of chemical and biological waste.
Student and Faculty Support: Provide direct, hands-on assistance to students and faculty during lab sessions.
Inventory Control: Manage lab supplies, including ordering and secure storage of chemicals and glassware.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of experiments, equipment logs, and inventory.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
Educational Background: B.Sc. in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field; and/or a D.Pharm or B.Pharm qualification.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of lab techniques and safety procedures specific to pharmaceutical sciences.
Organizational Skills: Excellent ability to manage tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain an organized workspace.
Communication: Effective communication skills for interacting with students and faculty.
