Job Description
Courses in subjects like chemistry, biology, microbiology, or clinical pathology.
Depending on the region or industry, certification from a recognized body (e.g.,National Certification Agency (NCA), or similar organizations) may be required or preferred.
Practical experience in a laboratory setting, including internships, clinical rotations, or work experience. Familiarity with laboratory techniques and equipment is important.
Proficiency in conducting laboratory tests, analyzing samples, and using laboratory equipment such as microscopes, spectrophotometers, and centrifuges.
Skills in recording and interpreting test results, maintaining accurate records, and following protocols.
Understanding of laboratory safety practices, quality control, and the principles underlying various tests and procedures.
Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards, such as those from OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) or CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments).
Precision in performing tests, recording results, and following standard operating procedures to ensure reliable and accurate outcomes.
Ability to adapt to new technologies, procedures, and changes in laboratory practices.
