As a Lab Technician specializing in seed testing, you will play a crucial role in conducting daily testing activities to assess the quality and characteristics of various seeds. Your responsibilities will include sample preparation, analysis, data recording, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities: Sample Preparation: Receive and organize seed samples for testing.
Perform cleaning, sorting, and weighing of seed samples.
Follow established protocols for sample preparation to maintain accuracy and consistency. Seed Testing: Conduct germination tests, purity analysis, moisture content tests, and other seed viability assessments.
Utilize specialized equipment for testing, such as moisture meters, seed counters, and germination chambers.
Record and analyze test results accurately, adhering to standard operating procedures. Quality Control:Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of testing procedures.
Participate in proficiency testing programs to validate laboratory performance. Equipment Maintenance:Perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
Identify and report any issues with equipment functionality promptly. Documentation:Maintain detailed and organized records of testing procedures, results, and other relevant information.
Generate reports summarizing testing outcomes for internal and external use. Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., biology, agronomy, or a related discipline).
• Proven experience working in a seed testing laboratory or a similar analytical laboratory setting.
• Familiarity with seed testing methods, including germination tests, purity analysis, and moisture content determination.
• Strong attention to detail and precision in handling samples and conducting tests.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proficient in using laboratory equipment and software for data analysis.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and clients.
• Adherence to safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
