Thales is expanding its presence in India through the development a Group Engineering Competence Centre (ECC), reinforcing its position as a leader in all its markets. Launching in early 2026 in Bengaluru, the ECC will expand Thales’ footprint in its core business areas and cement its long-standing relationship with India. This ECC, the first of its kind in India, will focus on hardware, software and systems engineering capabilities for both the civil and defence sectors. India, and in particular Bengaluru, was chosen as the location for the new ECC due to the existing ecosystem – its proximity to the market, competence in research and development and abundance of skilled engineers. Both the needs of the local market and export markets will be catered for, meaning those who join Thales will have the opportunity of working on diverse projects with a high level of complexity, innovating in all the different markets we are present in. On Thales’s Bangalore office, the competence center Equipment and Technologies Aeronautical (ETA) develops avionics platforms for commercial and military airplane. The FPGA and electronic board discipline develop the hardware part of this equipment. These departments have electronic testing laboratories and environments. In this environment, you will oversee the lab facilities, including maintenance and the improvement of it.
EXPERIENCE: 6 to 10 years of relevant experience in Defense/Avionics/Aerospace systems design is desirable.
Job description:
• Manage the means used in our laboratory, such as: Lab workbenches, equipment and test benches
• Manage the measuring instruments (calibration, failure, new equipment need)
• Manage the stock of tools and means
• Manage the expedition / withdrawal with the logistic team (tests outside our lab, link with others Thales office)
• Ensure the 5S process in our lab
• Be a force for proposition to enhance our means and the laboratory’s daily life
• Be the link with us and the subcontractor/supplier
• Manage lab consumables
• Be the ESD correspondents and maintain same in lab environment.
• Ensure the safety of users and the PPE rules.
Necessary skills:
• Understanding of electronic measurement equipment’s.
• Should be familiar with Soldering process and assembly process
• Should be familiar with Electronics Integration and debugging phase
• Should be familiar with electronic passive, active and connectors
• Should be good in communication with good interpersonal skills
• Should be able to handle multiple tasks at a time
• Should have some in depth knowledge on lab equipment management.
Secondary competencies:
• Knowledge on Lean, comfortable with IT tools, Microsoft project, macro excel, Visio
• Knowledge on different type of connector crimping and interface harness using various AWG wires
• Knowledge on Allegro, Quadview or Concept HDL will be added value.
