Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pathology Lab Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing routine and complex laboratory tests, preparing and analyzing specimens, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of test results. This role requires a strong understanding of laboratory procedures, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
• Specimen Collection and Handling: Collect, label, and prepare biological specimens (e.g., blood, tissue) for analysis. Ensure proper handling and storage according to established protocols.
• Testing and Analysis: Perform a variety of diagnostic tests, including histology, cytology, and immunohistochemistry. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microscopes and automated analyzers.
• Data Management: Record and analyze test results accurately. Document all procedures and findings meticulously, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
• Quality Control: Follow established quality control procedures and participate in the implementation of new protocols. Conduct routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere to laboratory safety guidelines and protocols. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Collaboration: Work closely with pathologists, other laboratory staff, and healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate diagnosis. Provide support and assistance as needed.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with advancements in laboratory techniques and technologies. Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
