Job Description
As a Lab Technician at Pace Farm's Egg Processing Plant, you will play a vital role in supporting laboratory operations within the Compliance Department.
Your key responsibilities will include sample preparation—sorting, labelling, and storing specimens—alongside maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment to ensure proper functioning.
You will accurately record experimental data and assist with data analysis, while also managing inventory levels of lab supplies.
Adhering to safety protocols is crucial, as you will ensure a safe working environment and maintain organised records of experiments and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing samples for analysis, including sorting, labelling, and storing specimens.
Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, ensuring all instruments are functioning correctly.
Record experimental data accurately and assist in data analysis under the supervision of senior staff.
Monitor inventory levels of lab supplies and assist in ordering materials as needed.
Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment, including proper disposal of hazardous materials.
Maintain detailed and organised records of experiments, procedures, and results.
Keep the lab clean and organised, ensuring all work areas are free from clutter and hazards.
About You
Are you a Lab Technician looking for your next career move?
We are seeking a driven and meticulous Lab Technician for our Minchinbury site.
You will come with either a Bachelor's degree or a Certificate IV in a relevant field, along with some laboratory experience.
While experience in the food industry is preferred, we welcome candidates from other sectors as well.
You're detail-oriented with strong organisational skills and a good understanding of laboratory techniques and safety protocols.
With a passion for continual learning, you thrive in a fast-paced environment and can quickly adjust to changing circumstances.

What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree or Certificate IV in a relevant field (Biology, Laboratory Techniques etc.).
Previous laboratory experience preferred, but entry-level candidates welcome.
Ability to commit to 7-3pm and the willingness to be flexible when required.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
Good understanding of laboratory techniques and safety protocols.
Previous experience with a Neogen Solaris machine and 3M Molecular detection system would be great but not essential.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Physical capability to lift up to 25kg and stand for extended periods.
Basic knowledge of Excel; willingness to learn additional software.
Availability for full-time hours, including potential weekends and holidays.
