Required Skills and Qualifications
1-Education: A post-secondary education (degree and/or diploma) in a science-related field (e.g., Chemistry, Geology, Mining Engineering) is often preferred.
2-Laboratory Experience:Prior experience in a laboratory setting, particularly with sample preparation and analysis techniques, is highly desirable.
3 -Sample Handling and Preparation:Receiving, sorting, and labeling client samples. Crushing, pulverizing, splitting, and sieving samples according to established procedures. Preparing samples for analysis using various techniques (e.g., digestion, dissolution).
4-Analysis and Testing:Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment such as Atomic Absorption Spectrometers (AAS), Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometers (ICP-MS), and other analytical instruments. Performing routine chemical and physical tests on mineral samples, including geochemical and environmental analyses. Analyzing drill cuttings and mud samples.
