Responsibilities
As an L&D RN at a DirectShifts facility in NYC, you will play a vital role in caring for women throughout the labor and delivery process
You will work collaboratively with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, other nurses, and healthcare professionals to ensure optimal outcomes for mothers and newborns
Assess and monitor laboring mothers, interpret fetal heart monitors, and identify potential complications
Assist with pain management techniques, provide emotional support, and advocate for patient needs
Prepare the delivery room and birthing environment
Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, following sterile procedures and protocols
Care for newborns immediately after delivery, perform assessments, and initiate breastfeeding
Educate and support mothers on postpartum care and newborn feeding
Document the entire labor and delivery process meticulously
Maintain a safe and sterile environment for mothers and newborns in the delivery suite
