Job Responsibilities:
• Manage legal risk by providing reliable advice, counsel, and support to our Legal, Human Resources, Compliance, Health & Safety, and Operations teams on legal matters, including, but not limited to, wage and hour, accommodations, disciplinary matters, compensation, leaves of absences, EEO requirements, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, social media, privacy, hiring and separations, union campaigns, collective bargaining, and policies and procedures.
• Effectively and efficiently supervise and/or partner with internal and outside counsel on labor and employment-related claims, litigation, grievances, arbitration, and regulatory proceedings.
• Oversee federal and state employment-related agency audits, complaints and investigations.

• Assist in managing union-related programs, including campaigns, elections, and bargaining.
• Advise on internal investigations involving employment matters.
• Prepare and present labor and employment-related training to HR and business leaders, including regular alignment with business and HR senior leadership teams.
• Adhere to, support, and actively promote the Mission, Values, standards and goals of Vail Resorts, the legal department, and the L&E Team.
• Other duties as necessary and assigned, including willingness to travel.

Job Qualifications:
• JD from accredited law school and active state bar license required.
• Minimum 5+ years’ employment legal experience, ideally with a combination of traditional labor relations law and significant time dedicated to advice and counseling versus litigation.
• Demonstrated understanding of federal and state employment laws, regulations, and agencies, including Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FLSA, FMLA, EEOC, NLRA, OSHA, and state agencies.
• Creative problem solver with strong organizational, project, and time management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work calmly under high-pressure conditions, meet deadlines, successfully multi-task, and effectively handle complex situations with flexibility, patience, positivity, and tact.
• High integrity and capable of building trust and credibility quickly.
• Standout colleague with the proven ability to develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with diverse groups of individuals.
• Impeccable interpersonal communication and customer service orientation.
• Ability to succeed working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Proven ability to drive complex projects to completion with a diverse group of business partners, and to lead collaborative group projects with minimal oversight and guidance.
• A commitment to professional growth, exceptional service (clients, partners, and team), and fun.

Preferred
• Legal experience working in-house or at a top-tier law firm.
• Experience working with public corporations, either as in-house or outside counsel, particularly in the travel and entertainment industry.
• Expertise in California and/or Colorado wage & hour law.
• Proven track record of successfully managing administrative employment matters.
• Experience litigating employment-related class and/or collective actions.
• Experience managing legal issues in non-U.S. jurisdictions.

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $137,000 - $150,000 + annual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
