Day to Day
Join the dynamic Indeed Hiring Lab team, where you'll engage with a rich array of unique data related to job searches and hiring trends. Conduct meaningful research on labor market developments and effectively communicate your insights to diverse audiences, collaborating closely with our economists, data scientists, editorial, PR, and marketing teams. This pivotal role is essential in helping job seekers and employers understand the evolving labor landscape.
Responsibilities
• Develop, research, and compose insightful blog posts centered on the US labor market, utilizing both Indeed's proprietary data and publicly available information.
• Collaborate on global research initiatives with fellow economists and data scientists within the Indeed Hiring Lab.
• Compile and analyze large datasets from Indeed and other sources using R and cloud computing tools.
• Summarize and report findings on key US labor market metrics, including payroll employment and job openings and labor turnover survey (JOLTS) data.
• Act as an expert on the US labor market in media interactions and public engagements.
• Support the preparation of presentations concerning labor market insights for Indeed's events aimed at clients and client-facing staff.
Skills/Competencies
• Bachelor's degree in economics or a related discipline, or a strong undergraduate academic record.
• A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong understanding of labor market theories, empirical research methodologies, and statistical concepts.
• Familiarity with the US labor market and publicly accessible labor market datasets.
• Proven ability to write and explain economic research for non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency in R for data analysis and visualization tasks.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Salary Range
Remote (US) $95,000 - $135,000 per year
Austin $95,000 - $135,000 per year
Seattle $100,000 - $150,000 per year
Scottsdale $95,000 - $135,000 per year
NYC Metro $110,000 - $164,000 per year
SF Bay Area $133,000 - $197,000 per year
