Description
The Department of Molecular and Medical Pharmacology is seeking a motivated Laboratory Assistant to join our research team. Responsibilities include maintaining lab organization, preparing reagents, and supporting human cell culture, transfection, and transduction. The role also involves performing molecular biology techniques such as PCR, DNA cloning, and immunoblot analysis. The successful candidate will collaborate with lab members and other UCLA research groups, attend regular meetings, and present brief research updates. Strong attention to detail, organization, and accurate record keeping are essential. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on research experience in a collaborative, cutting-edge environment.
Hourly range: $20.90-$24.19
Qualifications
Required:
Ability to organize raw data into a comprehensible form;
Ability to maintain laboratory readiness for future experiments;
Meeting attendance required; Ability to communicate effectively to convey experimental results;
Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with faculty, staff, postdoctoral fellows and students;
Computer skills including knowledge of Excel, MS Word; familiarity with Windows.
Preferred:
Minimum one year of related experience or training;
Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
