Laboratory Technician

Position Title: Lab technician [Mechanical]

Location: Bangalore

Basic Qualifications:

· Diploma [Mechanical] with working knowledge on basic electrical and mechanical tools.

· 3+ years of total work experience in managing the lab with experience in measurements.

Requirements:

· Strong knowledge of mechanical principles, materials, and testing techniques.

· Proficiency in using laboratory equipment, instruments, and tools.

· Familiarity with data acquisition and analysis software.

· Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Strong organizational and time management abilities.

· Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

· Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and procedures

· Basic communication skills to manage local vendors.

Position Responsibilities:

The primary role is to support mechanical engineers and engineering team by assisting in testing of mechanical systems, components, and materials.

1. Test Setup and Equipment Operation:

· Set up and prepare the necessary equipment, instruments, and machinery for mechanical tests and experiments.

· Ensure all equipment is calibrated, maintained, and operated correctly according to established procedures.

· Conduct routine inspections to identify any issues or malfunctions and report them for repair or maintenance.

2. Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

· Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure its proper functioning and accuracy.

· Collaborate with equipment vendors and service providers to schedule maintenance, repairs, and calibration activities.

· Keep inventory of laboratory supplies, tools, and equipment, and coordinate procurement when necessary.

· Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment to prevent accidents and maintain compliance with regulations.

3. Collaboration and Reporting

· Collaborate with engineers, and team members to provide technical support and assistance in research and development projects.

· Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and documentation.

4. Laboratory and laboratory equipment maintenance

· Laboratory maintenance for Engineering labs.

· Monitoring and measuring equipment's calibration, qualification, and Preventive maintenance activity.

· Hands on experience in SOP and Work Instruction writing for Mechanical tools and equipment's.

· Work with external vendor for all the equipment maintenance activity to complete on time.

5. Inventory management

· Components tracking and maintaining the inventory component using the inventory track using software tools.

6.Maximo tool support

· Laboratory equipment maintenance data base management for calibration and equipment maintenance tracking.

7.Team support

· Support for the team for proto build and assembly activity.

· Making assembly of mechanical and electrical parts on the product.

· Conduct assembly checks to ensure the assembly features are meeting the drawing requirements.

· Product assembly and disassembly for issue debugging.

· Follow-up with suppliers for getting the prototypes, provide feedbacks on the quality and conformance to drawing
