Roles & Responsibilities:
• Day to day sample handling and pre-processing, DNA/RNA extractions, quality control.
• Autoclaving and handling biowaste of the laboratory.
• Prepares basic solutions and performs base-level procedures as assigned.
• Overall maintenance of laboratory and equipments.
• Able to work for late hours (20% in a month).
• Understands and applies basic scientific techniques.
• Sets up and prepares routine experiments as directed.
Desired Skills:
• Work flexibly and independently as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced scientific environment.
• Strong desire to learn new NGS workflows and interest in applying NGS tools to answer challenging questions.
• Experience with Laboratory Information Systems
• Computer literacy
• Strong analytical skills
• Critical thinker
• Great communication skills
Eligibility:
• B.Sc./M.Sc. Biotechnology, Microbiology, Life Sciences or related field.
• Freshers are welcome. 1-2 years of experience related to life sciences and biotechnology industry.
• Experience in next-generation sequencing workflows is preferred.
• Hands on experience in library preparation of NGS, automated DNA extractor, Strong interest in human microbiome is desirable.
