Job Overview:We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team. As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for the collection, preparation, and analysis of water samples. Your role will be crucial in ensuring accurate and reliable data for scientific research and experimentation. You must have previous experience using an Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer (ICP-MS).
Duties:- Perform laboratory tests and experiments according to standard operating procedures- Collect and prepare samples for ICP-MS analysis
- Daily set-up, maintenance, operation and trouble shooting of ICP-MS
- Prepare solutions for calibration of ICP-MS
- Sample Disposal
- General Laboratory Housekeeping
- Maintenance of logs- Conduct quality controls checks to ensure accuracy and precision of results- Maintain laboratory equipment and troubleshoot any issues that arise- Record and analyze data using various software programs- Prepare reports summarizing findings and presenting them to the research team
Experience:- Previous experience using an Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer (ICP-MS)
- Previous experience working in a laboratory setting is preferred- Strong mathematical skills for data analysis and interpretation- Familiarity with laboratory techniques, equipment, and safety protocols- Proficient in data collection, organization, and analysis- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions- Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot equipment or procedural issues
