Position Summary:

Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, participates in the execution of laboratory projects and experiments. Performs a variety of specialized technical tasks according to established methodology. Prepares materials and equipment. Compiles data. Demonstrates techniques. Maintains equipment.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Assesses health of rodent colonies

Performs injections (IT, IV, ICV) into rodents

Processes tissue, particularly brain.

Conducts RNA, DNA andprotein extractions

Performs assessment of tumor burden in rodent brain

Works with trainees to ensure proper experimental procedures are followed

Assesses delivery of payloads in vivo, including GFP imaging

Maintains stem cell lines

Performs qPCR and western blots

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities:

Proficiency in rodent injection techniques, including intrathecal (IT), intravenous (IV), and intracerebroventricular (ICV) routes

Skilled in tissue processing, particularly brain tissue

Hands-on experience with RNA, DNA, and protein extraction

Familiarity with in vivo delivery methods and imaging techniques (e.g., GFP tracking)

Competence in molecular biology techniques including qPCR and western blotting

Willingness to work with marmosets
