About the Role:
We are seeking a Phlebotomist / Medical Laboratory Pre-Analytical Technician to join our Patient Services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for blood collection, handling contained specimens, and preparing specimens for transportation. Key tasks include working on a rostered basis, Monday-Friday, 8 hours per day between 07:30 and 1+:00.
Key Responsibilities:
Blood collection from patients
Handling contained specimens, i.e., human blood, faeces, and tissue
Preparing specimens for transportation
Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you must have:
NCEA Level 3 in Science, Maths, and English
Excellent customer service skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes accurately
Good computer skills
Reliable transport and full Driver's license
Pathways to Registration:
There are three pathways to achieve registration with the Medical Sciences Council (MSC):
Graduate with a human biology-based degree
Sit the Medical Laboratory Pre-Analytical Technician examination
Enrol in the ARA Diploma in Applied Science (Pre-Analytical) Level 5 qualification
