Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Carpenter Helper to join our construction team. As a Labourer/Carpenter Helper, you will assist in various tasks and contribute to the successful completion of construction projects. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively with a team. We work in many areas of the province and as such travel time is paid. This would be an excellent opportunity for either a young adult who would like to find a career path or seasoned outdoor construction professional. This is a labour intensive position due to the hole digging aspect. Owning your own tools is not a factor as we supply what is needed for site. We are focused more on the individual them self rather than the resume or list of tools you own.
Must haves:
-Ability to get to site or Peterborough
-Some outdoor construction experience
Duties:
- Assist carpenters in the construction and installation of fences, pergolas and decks of various materials
-Dig holes both with machinery and by hand when necessary
- Measure, cut, and shape materials according to specifications
- Setting posts in concrete
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Skills:
- Previous experience as a carpenter or carpenter helper is preferred but not entirely necessary
- Basic knowledge of carpentry
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately while taking direction from a head Carpenter/Foreman
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
