Mission
Terus Construction, a division of Colas Western Canada Inc., is hiring seasonal labourers for our operations in Whitehorse, Yukon.
Main Responsibilities
General labourer duties associated with road construction operations
Required ability to shovel, rake and handle other small tools
Responsible for maintaining the quality of the mat by filling holes, raking, sweeping and get it ready for the rolling operation.
Responsible for ensuring all the necessary tools are ready to go on the appropriate trucks for the day ahead.
Aid the paver operator, screed operator, roller operator and foreman to enable them to focus on their jobs.
Assist in keeping all the equipment fueled, watered, greased, and cleaned
Operate equipment as needed
Yard, plant and equipment clean up as needed
Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment and movement of materials
Follow instructions from supervisor/manager
Perform other adhoc duties as required
Qualifications/Experience
Class 5 Drivers License or equivalent preferred
Junior position, no experience required
Working Conditions
Overtime as required
Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt
Must be physically able to work general labour
Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry 50 LBS as needed
Use of personal protection equipment is required
Must comply with the company’s drug and ******* testing requirements
Compensation Data
The anticipated wage for this position is minimum $30/hour. The final compensation package will be determined based on factors including the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
