Roles and Responsibility
Lead the land acquisition process for renewable energy projects, including conducting due diligence, negotiating land purchase agreements, and resolving land title issues.
Stay abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and zoning ordinances related to land use, real estate, and environmental regulations. Ensure compliance with all legal requirements throughout the land acquisition and development process.
Oversee title investigations and resolve any title defects or discrepancies. Coordinate with external legal counsel, surveyors, and land agencies to ensure clear and marketable title for project sites.
Draft, review, and negotiate various legal agreements related to land acquisition, leasing, easements, and right-of-way agreements. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external parties to secure favorable terms and protect the company's interests.
Manage land-related disputes, litigation, and claims. Implement effective strategies to resolve disputes in a timely and cost-effective manner, while minimizing legal risks and preserving business relationships.
Identify and assess legal risks associated with land acquisition and development activities. Develop risk mitigation strategies and provide proactive legal advice to internal stakeholders.
Provide legal support and guidance to project development teams throughout the project lifecycle, from site selection and feasibility analysis to construction and operation.
Build and maintain positive relationships with landowners, government authorities, regulatory agencies, and other external stakeholders. Represent the company in negotiations and meetings with landowners and community representatives.
