Large Format Operator
Hourly Rate: $19.00/hr - $21.00/hr
Job Summary
Reporting to the Large Format and Garment Supervisor, the Large Format Operator is responsible for producing complete specialized of large format print projects in compliance with job specifications and in accordance with company quality standards and procedures. Coordinates workload schedule to meet customer time frame requirements while achieving optimum productivity. Performs daily/weekly/monthly maintenance on equipment to ensure optimum output.
As the Large Format Operator and a member of the Production Team, you are accountable for meeting the department production and quality goals, as well as playing a key role in meeting company-wide profitability and customer satisfaction goals:

Key Responsibilities
General and Administrative
Coordinate and communicate with the Large Format Team, Large Format Supervisor, Team Lead to produce and prioritize jobs and, when necessary, reorganize to meet deadline changes and updates.
Comply with all OHSA safety requirements and Company’s health and safety policies.
Participate as a key player in the Production Team by supporting operations as needed.
Follow systems and procedures outlined in the Corporate Policy Manual.
Large Format Operations
Set-up, maintain and operate large/wide format presses and/or cutters for the production of all types of commercial printing.
Responsible for timely and quality output of all assigned jobs from docket review to inventory.
Retrieve the correct work order and load the appropriate material as per work order.
Inspect all printed and cut products, ensuring quality standards are maintained and comply with clients’ and company’s specifications as noted on the work order.
Staging of job orders for processing to install additional accessories (hemming, grommets, display stands, packing and etc).
Minimize and highly conscious of material waste and usage.
Ability to readily determine the correct stock type/size needed to do a job and maintain the inventory.
Loading and refilling media and inkjet for printing of the job order.
Able to work closely and follow instructions from the Large Format Supervisor.
Maintain safe working conditions in the large format area with regards to equipment, chemicals and other materials used.
Ensure high standards of print/cut quality and efficiency within the department.
Package jobs, complete work orders, tickets, and delivery receipts as necessary and placed in their assigned areas.
Record and maintain work/job information onto an activity sheet for tracking purposes.
Perform quality controls on the assigned machine/ equipment, printed and/or cut print jobs.
Troubleshoot breakdowns, conduct minor repairs, and perform routine maintenance. Report major breakdowns to the Large Format Supervisor/Team Lead.
Control and adjust machine settings when required.
Responsible for cleaning and machine setup of assigned equipment/machine.
Notify Large Format Supervisor and/or Team Lead of any quantity or quality issues.
Other duties as assigned.
Equipment and Supplies
Clean and maintain equipment and work area following maintenance procedures and update maintenance logs.
Monitor and manage inventory of large format supplies; order and stock as instructed by the Large Format supervisor.
Key Experience & Qualifications
High school diploma/GED with experience or vocational/technical certification.
Previous print and/or Large/Wide format presses knowledge/experience is an asset.
Demonstrated knowledge of digital cutting machines (Zund and Esko) and/or printing (Tauros and Ceres)
Previous experience in operating machinery is an asset.
Strong interpersonal skills e.g. working well with others, communication, positive attitude.
Strong computer skills.
Good written, verbal and mathematical skills.
Good Attention to detail and hand eye coordination.
Able to work independently and as a member of the team.
Able to apply written instructions to machine set-up and maintenance.
Reliable attendance, punctuality and attention to workstation.
Meet or exceed minimum test results as specified by the hiring manager.
