Job Description
This individual is responsible for ensuring that all areas of the hotel are kept properly stocked with clean linens, as well as cleanliness of the hotel including the lobby, corridors, offices, pool, and fitness centre. Individuals with prior cleaning and housekeeping experience are preferred, but we are always willing to train hardworking team players.
Job Description
The candidates duties include but are not limited to:
Collaborate with the housekeeping team to complete the daily cleaning schedule.
Clean, tidy and sanitize hallways, elevators, lobbies, back office, staff room, common areas, fitness and business centres, pool and restaurant every 2 hours.
Assist in stripping soiled linen from the guest rooms as required.
Sort linens for washing and remove stain from soiled linen.
Dispose of linen and cloths properly.
Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
Operate two washers and two dryers as well as ensure correct use of cleaning chemicals.
Fold linens to hotel standards and deliver them to the linen rooms and housekeepers ensuring stock is well organized in designated areas.
Understand the guests service needs and work cohesively with co-workers as part of the team.
Dust and polish various surfaces and furniture.
Vacuum, sweep and mop floors.
Empty trash bins and change linens, towels and replace toiletries.
Restock cleaning supplies in the cart.
Report any issues with the common areas and guest room(s) that require maintenance.
Be able to communicate with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding.
Maintain confidentiality of guest information.
Handle and report lost and found items.
Empty dirty linen from the bins into the laundry shoot and stock linen carts.
Follow all safety and sanitation policies.
Follow departmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED Certificate preferred.
Must be able to speak and understand English.
Previous hospitality industry experience an asset.
Must be able to push and pull carts on a regular and continuous basis.
Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and supplies.
Physical stamina for being on your feet throughout shifts.
Able to lift upwards of 25 pounds.
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
Meticulous attention to detail and able to follow instructions.
Time-management skills, hard working and a positive attitude.
