We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Insurance Lawyer to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex legal matters and collaborate with industry experts in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide legal counsel to clients on insurance-related matters, including claims, policy disputes, regulatory compliance, and coverage issues.
Draft, review, and negotiate insurance contracts, policies, and other legal documents.
Represent clients in litigation, arbitration, and mediation proceedings involving insurance disputes.
Advise clients on risk management and compliance with local and national insurance laws and regulations.
Analyze legal and regulatory trends in the insurance industry and provide recommendations for proactive legal strategies.
Collaborate with insurance companies, claims adjusters, brokers, and other stakeholders to resolve complex insurance-related issues.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving case law, statutory requirements, and industry best practices.
Provide legal support in the event of claims, disputes, and investigations related to insurance fraud and bad faith claims.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Active and valid license to practice law in Ontario.
Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing law with a focus on insurance law, claims handling, policy drafting, and litigation.
Strong understanding of insurance regulations, industry standards, and emerging trends.
Proven track record of handling complex insurance disputes and litigation.
Exceptional research, writing, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
Experience working with insurance companies, brokers, and regulatory bodies is highly preferred.
Strong analytical skills and ability to think strategically.
