About the role
An opportunity exists for a 1-4 years post admission lawyer to join K&L Gates' Finance Practice Group.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high performing team working with a Recommended Lawyer for Banking and Finance in Australia by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific, 2024-2025, Alan Maclean.
Our Asset & Corporate Finance team have expertise in a range of property finance, project and infrastructure finance, corporate finance, acquisition and leveraged finance transactions as well as advising establishing financial institutions on Australian financial services regulatory requirements.
This full time permanent role, is a fantastic opportunity to join a high performing team in a firm who regularly acts for large Australian and international financial institutions and corporate clients.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual with good drafting skills acquired through their broad commercial transactional experience. The successful candidate will gain exposure to high calibre work and have the chance to cultivate their existing skills under the guidance of Alan's collaborative leadership and inspiring experience within a close-knit team.
What does the role involve?
Acting for a range of clients including banks, lenders, borrowers, and other participates in the finance industry in an array of financing transactions,
Drafting, preparing and negotiating facility agreements, mortgages, securities, guarantees and ancillary documents,
Conducting research and providing advice to clients,
Conducting and co-ordinating settlements, including attending to satisfaction of conditions precedent , signing of documents and registration of securities;
Participating in business development and client relationship activities
Interacting with clients and liaising with colleagues in other offices and practice areas around the globe
About You

You should be practical and proactive in your approach in addition to demonstrating strong problem solving skills and drafting skills.
To be successful in this role you will ideally have 1-4 years experience in a similar firm working in Banking and Finance or have prior experience in general commercial deals and transactions. You should be proactive in your approach and possess strong problem solving skills. You will be commercially astute, have a strong eye for detail and be a valuable team member.
A high level of client service is expected as are excellent organisation, written and oral communication skills.
