Reporting directly to the Partner you will have the opportunity to work on high-profile cases, collaborate with industry-leading professionals, and contribute to the continued success and growth of our practice.
Responsibilities
This position will provide the opportunity to engage in Cyber matters and provide our clients with relevant legal advice regarding cyber claims.
Cyber Incident Response Management
Managing cyber incident response as part of a team
Have primary responsibility for the day-to-day management and provision of cyber incident breach response services
Retaining various experts necessary for the cyber incident response
Legal advice on risks arising from a cyber incident
Advising on privacy implications as a result of a data breach
Preparing notifications to regulator(s) and affected individuals as necessary
Providing client support and being the regular client liaison during the incident response process
Corresponding and obtaining instructions from clients, both insured and insurers
Advising on cyber recoveries (if any)
Advise on disputes arising from the cyber incident
Cyber Coverage Advice
Advising insurers on cyber coverage issues
Acting as coverage and monitoring counsel on significant cyber incidents with day-to-day carriage of matter
Preparing briefs for Counsel to advise if necessary
Advise on regulatory investigations & proceedings, disputes or class actions arising from a data breach
About You
Tertiary qualification in Law
Current Practising Certificate for relevant jurisdiction
0-3 years PAE working principally in cyber or financial lines or commercial litigation
Experience or exposure to insurance desired
Excellent critical reasoning and investigative skills with the ability to think laterally
Strong legal drafting ability
Effective and timely file management and billing ability
A highly developed customer service ethic
Proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships, particularly the ability to earn the confidence and trust of key stakeholders
Excellent influencing and negotiation capability
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Highly organised, able to plan and prioritise work to meet key deliverables
Proven ability to facilitate presentations and meetings with varying sizes of groups of people
The ability to question the status quo and offer practical solutions
