Emmons & Olivier Resources, Inc. (EOR) is seeking a Lead Accounting/Financial Manager to join our Operations team at our Saint Paul, MN office.  EOR is an engineering and environmental consulting firm that specializes in: WATER (watersheds + water resources), ECOLOGY (ecosystems + natural resources) and COMMUNITY (civil engineering, landscape architecture + planning).  We have an exciting opportunity for an individual who is eager to assist with our organization’s accounting and financial growth.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Brief Description:

This position requires the ability to lead and oversee the team making financial transactions which include posting information to accounts, recording receipts and bank deposits, making disbursements, reconciling accounts, managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing. You will be issuing timely and complete financial statements and reports and maintaining accounting records in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and our company accounting policies. Oversight extends to the accounting operations of subsidiaries and branch offices including Canadian subsidiary. Work with the CFO to create controls and budgets designed to mitigate financial risk, while calculating and monitoring financial and operating metrics set by the CFO. This position will focus on the financial health of the company under the direction of the CFO.

Primary Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Compliance

Prepare and review financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) with a keen eye towards detail and accuracy

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations

Coordinate with and deliver information to CPA for annual tax returns

Oversee audits and maintain strong internal controls

Team Management & Collaboration

Supervise and mentor accounting/finance staff and work with accounting consultants

Collaborate across departments to support financial literacy and budget adherence

Cash Flow & Risk Management

Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and capital expenditures

Coordinate with CFO to conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities

Payroll

Work with third party payroll processor to prepare semi-monthly payrolls

Coordinate payroll deductions and changes with our Human Resources staff

Technology & Systems Oversight

Implement and manage financial systems/software

Ensure accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of financial data

Education/Experience Requirements:

Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business

Minimum 7+ years in finance or accounting

Experience with Deltek VantagePoint accounting software

Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and collaboration skills

Passion for operating in a mission-driven, environmentally focused, and values-based environment

Education/Experience Preferred:

Experience in a mid-sized A&E consulting firm

Experience with QuickBooks accounting software

Experience with Canadian/multicurrency transactions

Base compensation is determined by factors such as market data, education and/or applicable experience, training, skills, and geographic location where work is performed.   The annual salary for this position is expected to range between $86,000 to $128,000.   Additionally, there is the potential for an end-of-year bonus based upon company profitability.
